Feb. 3 - Kid Biz Expo Winter Gala. Annual Fundraiser Supporting the Kid Biz Expo Mission: Providing Experiences to Learn Life Skills Through The Journey of Entrepreneurship. Your experience at the Gala is not only an enjoyable evening, but a way to build resources for future minds! The event features an Italian meal, an Improv Comedy show by Joe Lemmo Comedy & Friends, a fun photo booth, music, and raffle baskets. Click here for more details!

Feb. 9-25 Steel Magnolias presented by Woodstock Arts. Written in just 10 days as a tribute to his sister Susan by playwright Robert Harling, this is a modern-classic comedy about a group of gossipy southern ladies in a small-town beauty parlor, reminding us of the strength and power of our chosen community. Feb. 10 Guns 'n' Hoses 5k at Hobgood Park. The purpose of the run is to raise money for charity causes selected by both groups, Guns (Cherokee County Police Department) & Hoses (Cherokee County Fire Department). Our member spotlight for the month of February is Michael Catron with District Film Company. To stay true to his personality, we'll just let him tell his story:

District Film Company is a video agency that has been in operation since 2018. My passion for videography began in high school, and I always had a dream of running my own business. At District Film, we specialize in creating ads, testimonial videos, and various other video content for organizations.

My journey into film started with a love for sports. I shot high school football on Friday nights and made hype videos for Instagram. I went to college at Kennesaw State right when they got a football team and I worked, as a student and later as a contractor, filming games and other content for the athletic department.

In 2017, I took a role on the Atlanta United video team before taking the leap to start my own business in 2018. Since jumping out on my own, I've been extremely blessed to have told stories and worked with major brands such as the NFL, Atlanta Falcons, Coke, Mercedes-Benz Stadium, and others.

Beyond my professional life, I am blessed with a wonderful wife, Amy, an 11-month-old daughter, and a pug named June.
